Optical fiber sensor

　　The optical fiber sensor can be linked to the light source of the photoelectric sensor, even in a narrow position can be freely installed, and the implementation of detection.

　　1) Principle:

　　The optical fiber, as shown in the figure, consists of a core in the center and a metal cladding with different refractive indices. When the light incident on the fiber core, it will continuously reflect the boundary surface of the metal cladding and enter the fiber. Through the interior of the fiber, the light emitted from the end face will be diffused at an Angle of 60° and shine on the detected object.

　　2) Fiber core includes the following types

　　Plastic type: The core is an acrylic resin, consisting of a single or multiple roots with a diameter of 0.1 to 1mm and wrapped in materials such as polyethylene. Due to the characteristics of light weight, low cost and not easy to bend, it has become the mainstream of optical fiber sensors.

　　Glass type: consists of 10 to 100μm glass fiber and is covered by stainless steel tube. It is resistant to high temperature (350°C).

　　Optical fiber sensors are divided into transmission type and reflection type 2 detection methods. The transmission type consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The reflection type seems to be 1 root from the appearance, but from the end view, it is divided into parallel type, coaxial type and separate type
