Interventional techniques that use electrode catheters to release radiofrequency current in a certain part of the heart cavity, leading to coagulation necrosis of the local endocardium and subendocardium of the myocardium, thereby disrupting the origin of certain rapid arrhythmias. The basic equipment includes X-ray machines, radiofrequency current generators, and cardiac electrophysiological examination instruments. Under local anesthesia, 3-4 electrode catheters are inserted into the coronary sinus, high right atrium, His bundle, right ventricle, and other areas through the femoral vein and subclavian vein to stimulate the atrium and ventricle and induce clinically consistent tachycardia. The origin point of the tachycardia is located, and then the ablation electrode catheter is delivered to the located origin point and connected to an external radiofrequency generator. Repeated electrophysiological examination after discharge, if it cannot induce tachycardia and there is no episode during clinical follow-up, it indicates successful ablation. The current diseases that can be treated with this technology include: preexcitation syndrome and paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia caused by dual atrioventricular node pathways, atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and atrial tachycardia. The curative rate of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia can reach over 90%, and the cure rate of ventricular tachycardia is about 50%. The radiofrequency ablation of atrial tachycardia, atrial flutter, and atrial fibrillation is currently undergoing clinical trials with no statistical data available.
