Precautions for using RF coaxial connectors
As one of the precision instruments, RF coaxial connectors should also be used with caution, not only to extend their service life, but also to bring convenience to subsequent connection and use.
1. Do not use pliers to secure the RF connector.
2. Follow the barrel principle and use connectors and cables that meet the testing requirements.
3. Do not use the adapter in calibration for regular testing.
4. Master the correct operating posture. When unplugging the test cable assembly from the instrument, be sure to grip it on the connector and never pull it outwards from the cable root, as this can easily cause faults at the connection between the cable and the connector.
5. Wear a protective cap on the adapter, as external threaded connectors such as N (f) and SMA (f) are prone to wear and tear. Especially SMA (f), if accidentally dropped on the ground, the threads are easily deformed. Therefore, it is best to put a plastic protective cap on the connector after use, which can also prevent dust.
6. Pay attention to the cleanliness of RF connectors. Use cotton swabs dipped in alcohol to clean the connectors, but do not use cotton swabs to clean the inner conductors of air medium connectors, such as 3.5mm and 2.92mm.
